Lymphoedema Management for Manual Therapists

This course will deliver a thorough understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the lymphatic system, providing you with the knowledge and skills to recognise and treat, lymphoedema and chronic swelling.

By the end of the course, you will be able to design and implement appropriate research and evidence based individualised management, selecting from a range of the latest therapies and new innovations and provide Fluoroscopy Guided Manual Lymphatic Drainage (FG-MLD®/’Fill &Flush) to clients with upper and lower limb lymphoedema.

This training is suitable for all bodyworker & manual, massage therapists with a Level 3 Massage Diploma or above.

Please note: Degree trained therapist may be suitable to attend our ‘Lymphoedema Rehabilitation Programme’ training course.

(Prerequisites apply and evidence of qualifications will be required)

Your course is made up of a blended learning format meaning your content and modules will be taught via live interactive webinars, through self-guided independent study and face to face clinical skills workshops.

All students will undergo a series of course specific formative & summative assessments.

Throughout the course you will be assessed through observation of practical tasks, written assessments, assignments, research and online tests.

Within this course you will be able to recognise lymphoedema, it’s types and causes, be aware of differing treatment strategies and provide bespoke treatment plans.

• Manual Lymphatic Drainage - FG-MLD®

• Innovations in practice.

On completion you will gain practical qualification of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (FG-MLD®) of the Upper & Lower Limbs.

That's why we offer recertification training for all of our therapists to ensure that you maintain the skills and knowledge you need to provide the best possible care for your patients.

Once you have successfully obtained your initial training certification, it is essential to attend a 1-day recertification training after the first 12 months, followed by subsequent trainings every 2 years to uphold your certification.
