A 2-Day, intensive collaboration between LTA and Hannah Poulton of HLP Therapy. Experience expert training in Scar Tissue Treatment for Lymphoedema.

Our collaboration programme will provide you with the knowledge and skills to effectively treat patients using the latest techniques and research, covering post-operative, chronic scars, self-care, home-management techniques and Live Case Studies!

Entry requirements:

This training is suitable for: All Lymphoedema Therapists or those encountering scars. 

 

Learning Format: 

​

2-day training course:

Day 1: Foundation training. 

Day 2: HLP Therapy Training

 

Your modules will be taught exclusively on these days. You will also be assessed and certified in face-to-face clinical skills workshops.

 

Course Contents: 

 

Day 1:

• Understanding of scar formation, definitions, and types of scars

• The effect of scars on local structures

• Care of the post operative scar 

• Hand techniques for scar treatment and secondary products  

• Incorporating MLD  

• Self-Care and Home management techniques 

 

Day 2:

• In depth assessment- building on our knowledge and under the skin 

• Specifics of Abdominal, breast and oncology scarring 

• Identifying different types of scarring and effect 

• Outcome measures used for scarring  

• Fascia  

• Scar Rehabilitation plans 

• The emotional impact of scarring  

• Diastasis Recti (Abdominal Separation) 

• Evidence based practice  

• Acupuncture and taping for scarring  

• Live case studies 

 

Course Certification:

You will be issued a 'Certificate of Practice' upon successful completion of the course.
