Our Lower Limb Lymphoedema Management Course provides you with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills for the management of lower leg lymphoedema/chronic oedema.  The course is being accredited by the College of Podiatry.

This is two tier training aimed at Community Nursing, Level 1 Treatment Advisory Programme (TAP) and Level 2 Advanced Practitioner Programme (APP).

Level 1 Treatment Advisory Programme (TAP)

The course is designed to provide a thorough understanding of the causes of and complications of lower limb lymphoedema and you will be able to advise a treatment pathway and implement simple management solutions.

Level 1 can be completed independently, however you will not be qualified to carry out MCB or MLD until successful completion of Level 2.

Training is suitable for:

People working with lower limb oedema such as community nurses and health care professionals.

Level 2 Advanced Practitioner Programme (APP)

The programme includes competencies of Multi-Component Bandaging (MCB) and manual lymphatic drainage using the Fluoroscopy Guided MLD (FG-MLD®) ‘Fill and Flush’ technique. You will have the advanced skills to treat oedema effectively above the knew recognising unique drainage pathways and advanced assessment skills and treatment.

Training is suitable for:

Healthcare Professionals only – Nurses, Medical Practitioners, OT’s, Physio’s and Podiatrists.

You must successfully complete Level 1 to attend this course.

Certification Requirements:

To maintain your LTA cert qualification you are required to undertake a 1 day review training after the first year and then biannually.
